“The Life of a Song” aims to explain how the music industry works through the lens of a song.

Using Imogen Heap’s song ‘Hide & Seek’ as a real-use case, the project shows the biography of the song — its uses, syncs, remixes, and collaborations over the last 13 years — and the money flow behind this worldwide hit.

Carlotta De Ninni’s background is in audio engineering. After studies in media management she has been involved in many projects regarding the implementation of blockchain technology in the music industry. She currently works with Imogen Heap as the Head of Research for Mycelia, specialising in music copyright, licensing, blockchain, smart contracts, and AR/VR.
