Locked into a bloody cycle of murder and reprisal, Electra, haunted by her father’s assassination, is consumed by grief and a thirst for vengeance. When her brother Orestes at last returns, she urges him to a savage and horrifying conclusion.

Frank McGuinness’s charged adaptation of Sophocles’ powerful tragedy was first performed at the Chichester Festival Theatre in 1997, and was revived at the Old Vic, London, in 2014. LSBU Student Theatre Company brings it back to London with vivid colour and a choral voice.

This version of Electra was commissioned by the Donmar Warehouse and first performed at the Minerva Theatre on 10th September 1997 in a co-production with Duncan C. Weldon for Chichester Festival Theatre.

Lucy Pitman-Wallace trained at BOVTS. The UK premiere production of The Burial at Thebes by Seamus Heaney for Nottingham Playhouse 2005 earned her a TMA Best Director nomination.

Lucy runs Three Legged Company. Her productions including Dossier: Ronald Akkerman (Gate), A Special Relationship (coproduction with York Theatre Royal UK tour including Traverse) and The Kingdom (A TLTC commission, Upstairs Soho Theatre).
