New UWL and The Questors Theatre partnership supports Ealing’s dramatic talent

The University of West London (UWL) and The Questors Theatre have started sharing rehearsal spaces for the benefit of students and Ealing’s community of theatrical practitioners, in a new partnership between the organisations.

Under the terms of the agreement, UWL’s London College of Music has access to three rehearsal spaces at the highly-regarded community theatre in Mattock Lane, located a few minutes’ walk from the university’s campus site in Saint Mary’s Road. Meanwhile, performers in productions by The Questors are able to rehearse in UWL’s state of the art rehearsal facilities.

The Questors was founded in 1929, first performed on its current Mattock Lane site in 1933, and is today recognised as the largest independent theatre group in Europe.

David Henson, Director of LCM, said: ‘A collaboration between UWL and The Questors will benefit both organisations, help our students to achieve excellence and enable local creativity to thrive in Ealing. This long-term commitment will lead to further opportunities and we look forward to further developing this relationship in future.’

Andrea Bath, executive director of The Questors, said: ‘Educating theatre practitioners has always been integral to The Questors and this partnership is an excellent opportunity for Ealing’s theatrical talent. We are delighted to welcome UWL to our theatre in the heart of the community.’

UWL and The Questors also jointly deliver a full-time course, BA (Hons) Theatre Production, as part of LCM’s commitment to training the next generation of highly skilled industry professionals.
