We Are Guildhall video wins CASE Circle of Excellence Gold Award

We Are Guildhall, the video produced in 2016 to tell the story of the Guildhall School and convey its diverse, open, and innovative approach to performing arts, was recognised in the Council for Advancement and Support of Education’s (CASE) Circle of Excellence Awards, receiving Gold in the category of General Information Videos (Short).

The CASE Circle of Excellence Awards are an international awards programme honours outstanding work in advancement services, alumni relations, communications, fundraising and marketing at colleges, universities, independent schools and affiliated non-profits.

We Are Guildhall was one of four videos to receive Gold in the General Information Videos (Short) category out of 104 entries. Of the 200 higher education institutions recognised, only 27 were from Europe. The music for We Are Guildhall was commissioned from the School’s Electronic Music department and composed by Guildhall School BMus Electronic Music student Henry Bird.

Competition judges on We Are Guildhall:

“If I were a music student I would attend. Well done project given the budget. Visually stunning, well edited. Right background music. Really drew the judges into their world.”

This year, the awards received 3,364 entries for consideration in nearly 100 categories from 715 higher education institutions, independent schools and affiliated organisations located worldwide.

Sue Cunningham, president and CEO of CASE, says 2017 was the most competitive year ever for the awards program that recognises outstanding achievement in educational advancement.

“These awards acknowledge superior accomplishments that have lasting impact, demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and deliver exceptional results. We salute the winners and thank everyone for their vital contributions to advancing education that transforms lives and society.”

Guildhall School last won a CASE Circle of Excellence award in 2011, when it received Bronze in the Complete Insitutional Websites category.
