with Peter Knapp
Saturday 28th May 10am – 12.30pm
Upper Vestry Hall, St. George’s Bloomsbury
6-7, Little Russell Street, London WC1A 2HR
If you have previously sung in a choir or studied singing or a musical instrument, you are very welcome to join this workshop, which will look in depth at the muscle physiology involved in singing and performing. Peter Knapp will show you simple ways in which to enhance the power, quality, range and stamina of your voice, based on his long experience as a singer of many operatic roles. He for the sessions to be entertaining as well as instructive.
He is currently recruiting a chorus for a semi-staged performance of Puccini’s Madame Butterfly at the Cadogan Hall in July and for those interested, part of the workshop will involve a short audition for the chance to take part in this project. Beyond this event he aims to form a more regular choir which will sing off-copy and perform in further productions with his orchestra, the London International Sinfonia.
Fee: £10 (free to students of London conservatoires and universities)
Bring a change of loose clothing.
