Walk Guide: Idrees Rasouli, Ravensbourne

Duration: about 90 minutes

This is a walk on the City’s spatial creation, mechanism of money flow, and architectural functionality in the 21st Mega-century.

This walk will look the major commercial buildings that house the world’s financial capital and the medieval street pattern, which accommodates them.

It will analyse the new architecture of consumption – the commercial vernaculars – which serves as an ideal form of efficiency, utility, and flexibility for design applications.

The walk will start at St. Paul’s tube station and end at Aldgate Station.

Idrees Rasouli
A graduate of the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London, Idrees Rasouli has been trained as an award-winning innovation design engineer, conceptual architect, urban innovator, business design lead, and creative researcher, with a focus on disruptive market innovation. He adopts a holistic approach to design and thinks at a system level to lead, scope, facilitate and deliver creative strategies alongside simple, impactful and thoughtful designs in a participatory, collaborative and team-based environment. A PhD candidate at the RCA’s Innovation Design Engineering programme, Idrees leads the BA (Hons) IDEA course at Ravensbourne with cross-departmental responsibility for delivering outstanding architectural and design education.
