This talk, by Joanna Zylinska, Professor of New Media and Communications at Goldsmiths, University of London, is part of the Life Online To-Day and To-morrow series hosted by King’s College London’s Ego-Media: The impact of new media on forms and practices of self-presentation ERC-funded research project and the Centre for Life Writing Research Centre.
It proposes the concept of ‘nonhuman vision’ [technologically enhanced vision] as a politico-ethical response to what Haraway calls the god-trick of infinite perception, a gaze of domination and occupation ‘seeing everything from nowhere’…
