Set in a post-industrial Britain, Shivered follows the lives of two families over twelve years as they struggle to survive the closure of the local car plant on which they were all dependent for their livelihoods.
Children are poisoned by pollution. There are strange lights in the sky. A soldier is taken captive. The seemingly random timescale of the play mirrors the shattered lives of the protagonists and leads to a prophetic conclusion.
Shivered premiered at Southwark Playhouse in 2012.
