Wagner Der Fliegende Holländer WWV 59 ‘Flying Dutchman’: Overture
Webern Passacaglia Op. 1
Alexander Ling (TL student) Mandala
Bruckner Symphony No. 6 in A major WAB 106
Martin André and George Jackson conduct the Trinity Laban Symphony Orchestra in an evocative and dramatic programme of Austro-German works. Wagner’s overture to the dramatic opera The Flying Dutchman opens the evening, followed by Webern’s luscious yet compressed writing in Passacaglia. Continuing the programme is a world premiere by student composer Alexander Ling, while the evening concludes with Bruckner’s majestic Symphony No. 6, perhaps his most intriguing symphonic masterpiece.
