The first of two half day symposia convened by Professor Stephen Farthing and designed to build a cross-disciplinary picture of the strategies used by archivists charged with creating coherent narrative records of nationally significant events. Each symposium will comprise of three short presentations by experts followed by a round table discussion.Professor Malcolm Quinn will chair each session and focus the discussion on ways of coordinating proactive attitudes towards archival collecting.

Laurence Ward: Principal Archivist London Metropolitan Archives, Culture, Heritage and Libraries Department

Dr Joanne O’Hara: Architectural Historian , Curator of The Olympics Drawn 2012

Kevin Owens: Director wilsonowensowens, master plan advisors for London 2012 , Boston’s Olympic Games 2024 bid , and currently working on the Rome 2024 bid as lead designer.

Niccy Halifax: Ceremonies Creative Lead & Executive Producer, London 2012 Team Welcome & Victory Ceremonies.
