In this presentation, Dr Jekaterina Rogaten and Dr Soljana Ҫili will discuss creativity and its relationship to mental health. The first part of the session will introduce the concept of creativity (How is it defined and measured?), explore why it is paramount in the new innovation-based economies (Do we need creativity in the workplace?), and reflect on the challenges of enhancing creativity (Can we nurture and manage it?). The second part of the session will look at the relationship between creativity and mental health. It will particularly focus on the relationship between creativity and bipolar, depressive, anxiety, and psychotic disorders. In addition, it will highlight how creativity may be positive for psychological well-being.
