As well as two of the mainstays of the clarinet and piano repertoire, this programme also includes a solo piece by the brilliant young Finnish composer, Outi Tarkiainen, a jazzy ballad from Richard Rodney Bennett, and one of the best-loved 20th century works; the Sonatina by Joseph Horovitz.

The Paris Conservatoire test piece by Henri Rabaud finishes this exploration of a wide range of the repertoire for clarinet.

David Campbell is well-known as a soloist, chamber musician and champion of new works. He has played in more than 40 countries, broadcast widely, and made over 20 commercial recordings.

David is also the Artistic Director of Musicfest Aberystwyth and UK Chair of the International Clarinet Association.

John Flinders is one of Britain’s finest accompanists and also often plays as a recitalist and concerto soloist.
