This session is dedicated to the alchemy of the creative process, as materials are galvanised into phenomena in the hands millinery and accessory designer Lara Jensen.

Only seven years after completing the MA Costume Design for Performance at LCF, having been awarded a Harold Tilman Fellowship, Lara Jensen counts several iconic performers as her clients, ranging from Madonna and Lady Gaga, to Steven Berkoff and Johnny Depp.

She recently designed for Kylie Minogue’s ‘Kiss Me Once’ Tour (alongside designers John-Paul Gautier and Dolce & Gabbana) and for Minogue’s Commonwealth Games 2014 concert.

Companies include Royal Ballet, BBC, E4 and MTV, and fashion advertising with Karen Millen, MAC Cosmetics, Selfridges and several other international clients.  Her work has been published in – amongst others – Vogue Italia, W Magazine, i-D, Dazed and Confused, the Financial Times, The Guardian and The New York Times.

Recent exhibitions: ‘Second Nature: Fashion Exhibition’,2013, at the PM Gallery & Pitzhanger Manor, London, ‘HeadOn’, 2013, Fashion Space Gallery, London, and Selfridges, as part of the Elephant Family Charity event hosted by HRH Prince Charles, 2013.

Collaborations include: Faustine Steinmetz, Ryan-Lo, Mary Benson, Ekaterina Kukhereva, Inbar Spector, Gemma Slack, Belle Sauvage, haute coiffurist Charlie Le Mindu and directors such as Lisa Gunning, William Tuckett and Jonas Akerlund.
