Venues Across London

In autumn 2015 The Culture Capital Exchange held its sixth annual Inside Out Festival with an erudite and eclectic mix of debates, performances, walks, screenings, exhibitions and workshops.

The Festival, in association with Times Higher Education, showcased the extraordinary contribution made by TCCE member universities to the capital’s vibrant cultural life, and welcomed inquiring minds to participate in a wealth of inspiring and diverse events held across London, almost all completely free.

To celebrate the opening of the Festival, members of the public and TCCE came together for one-day with opera maestro Peter Knapp to develop an incredible interactive live performance of operatic highlights with The London International Sinfonia. Highlights of the festival included a stroll with Professor Jeremy Strong around some of London’s Gentlemen’s Clubs which revealed secret histories of their literary members, a unique collaborative performance entitled ‘The Verbatim Formula’ by a group of looked-after children and young adult care-leavers, and a performance at the London Museum of Water and Steam with the London College of Music illustrating the pandemonium created by machines, engines and literature of the nineteenth century’s industrial revolution. These were just a few of the 52 interdisciplinary, interactive and collaborative cultural events hosted by TCCE’s successful 2015 Inside Out Festival.

Contributors/Speakers: The Times Higher Education, The Culture Capital Exchange and TCCE’s 13 member universities: University of the Arts London, City University London, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, King’s College London, Kingston University London, Middlesex University London, Queen Mary University of London, Ravensbourne, Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, Royal Holloway University of London, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and University of West London.
