Constructing a Just Social and Global Order: Panel Discussion
In an era of increasing globalisation, the fabric of individual societies is changing at unparalleled rates. New rule-makers are emerging and not strictly confined to established nation-states. Human rights discourse remains key to constructing viable foundations for the moral lingua franca of the contemporary world. On that moral foundation, the roles and contributions of both individuals and states need to be defined in order to enable political and legal regimes to construct the public policies necessary to secure human rights more effectively.
As a leading research hub for inquiry into law through the lens of politics and philosophy, the Yeoh Tiong Lay Centre for Politics, Philosophy and Law will examine how the confluence of these areas can shape law and public policy. Over the course of this panel discussion, experts will discuss new ways of thinking on the global challenges facing human rights.
