This exhibition celebrates the launch of EDIT 02, a publication produced by LCC’s Course Leader for BA (Hons) Graphic and Media Design, Craig Burston.
Subtitled ‘What Does Green Really Mean?’, the book records an investigation into the assumptions we make about the notion of ‘green’.
As Burston’s initial research expanded, banal objects became totems and catalysts in a contemplation of what green means linguistically, politically, conversationally and fundamentally.
Not seeking to find an answer to the question, but rather to contemplate it from a variety of angles, Burston brings together objects and discussions, the academic and the pedestrian.
EDIT 02 ultimately explores the inextricable links between nature, geopolitics, conflict and protest.
The book’s sources include NASA, television screenwriters, sound artists and the reprinting of a first person account of the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima in 1945.
