Meet the Editors with Palgrave Macmillan

Event Details

18:00 - 20:30
6 Penrose Way,
North Greenwich,
SE10 0EW

Following The Culture Capital Exchange’s enormously popular How to Get Published in 2014, a collaborative event with Palgrave Macmillan for Early Career Researchers, TCCE invited all member researchers to a second collaboration, Meet the Editors.

Representatives from Palgrave gave a practical overview of the range of options for getting research published and offered advice around approaching publishers and pitching ideas.  ECRs were provided the opportunity to have individual conversations with editors from publications covering a range of disciplines within Humanities and Social Sciences, during which they could pitch ideas and ask more detailed questions. ‘Meet the Editors’ was exceptionally well received by researchers from TCCE member universities and this second collaboration with Palgrave Macmillan provided a valued and exciting opportunity to all participants.

Contributors/Speakers: Jen McCall, Global Head of Humanities, Scholarly Division & Publisher, Theatre & Performance, Palgrave Macmillan; Suzie Leighton, Co-Director, TCCE; Peter Cary, Commissioning Editor, History, Palgrave Macmillan;  Esme Chapman, Linguistics Editor, Palgrave Macmillan; Brendan George, Head of History and Philosophy + Publisher for Philosophy, Palgrave Macmillan; Andrew James, Senior Commissioning Editor, Sociology, Palgrave Macmillan; Chris Penfold, Commissioning Editor, Film, Culture & Media, Palgrave Macmillan; Sharla Plant, Editor, Psychology, Palgrave Macmillan; Tom Rene, Editor, Literature, Palgrave Macmillan
