Ahead of this year’s Edinburgh Festival, Theatre Arts at Middlesex University presents musical comedian Kate Lucas and Abnormally Funny People, with Jacob Hawley as compere for the evening.
Musical comedian Kate Lucas is an alumna of the Theatre Arts degree at Middlesex and was named Leicester New Comedian of the Year 2014.
‘Some people know exactly what to say, exactly what to think and exactly how to behave. They breeze through life with grace, efficiency and ease. Bastards. Kate does not. A kooky blend of niceness and cynicism, with a ‘razor sharp wit’ –BroadwayBaby.com
Abnormally Funny People are a group of stand-up comedian who are all disabled…with the exception of token non-disabled Steve Best (a lecturer on the BA Theatre Arts’ Stand-Up Comedy module).
2015 is tenth anniversary at Edinburgh, and they’ll be performing their new show at Middlesex ahead of it’s Edinburgh debut.
A 2014 graduate from the Theatre Arts degree at Middlesex, Jacob is a veteran of the Stand-Up Comedy module and has performed over 100 gigs since he began stand-up in 2012.
“Jacob is an exciting new act who can hold an audience and get them laughing with his riffs and off-script moments. That’s an impressive skill that is only going to improve the more he’s booked. So book him.” – Bobby Carroll, Comedy Knights
