7th February, 2014 / 11.00am - 4.00pm
6th July, 2015
This free full-day conference takes place at our Hendon Campus and the research presented will represent the diversity and richness of our Department disciplines. We are delighted to announce that two of our leading researchers will be giving keynote presentations on their work: Professor Betsy Thom on the importance of conducting research to inform policy around drugs and alcohol and Professor Rena Papadopolous on the role of cultural compassion in healthcare and nursing.
Presentations from staff throughout the day will range over a number of themes, including drug and alcohol addiction; mental health; ageing and older people; young people; children and families, and herbal medicine. Workshops and papers will include topics such as ‘Understanding suicidal groups of young people’, ‘Acupuncture for treatment of alcohol dependence’ and ‘Working with mothers who have had children permanently removed from their care’.
All food and refreshments will be provided throughout the day and the event will take place in the heart of the picturesque Middlesex University campus. The day will finish with an informal drinks reception and book launch – with the opportunity to hear about and purchase recent books written and edited by departmental staff.
Places are limited; please book via Eventbrite.
