Cecil Sharp House, 2 Regent's Park Road, Camden, London NW1 7AY

The second One Dayer conference gathers together some of the best industry brains to help forecast the future of live independent music – by diving in to three main subject areas – how technology can get us there; how the audience is changing; and where the opportunities lie for improved revenues.

Join musicians, producers, funders, venues, promoters and techies to discuss the opportunities for live music, audience development, technology and finance. Join a live debate with senior politicians to lobby them about the future of live music, hear from insightful expert speakers, join practical show and tell sessions and take part in panel discussions. Go home inspired by pioneers, new thinking, practical knowledge and a bunch of great contacts.  Read more about the conference  here.

Speakers include:

  • Peter Bazalgette (Arts Council England)
  • Tim Plyming (NESTA)
  • Nick Sherrard (Market Gravity)
  • Cliff Fluet (Lewis Silkin)
  • Britney Bean (Songdrop)
  • Lisa Meyer (Supersonic Festival)

The first free webinar, Hubchat #1: Takes One to Know One, took place on Friday 27 February 2015 joined by expert panellists from  The Roundhouse‬‬, YouthSightsomewhereto and Livity. You can watch again here.

The second free webinar, Hubchat #2: Them’s The Breaks took place on Friday 27 March 2015 with speakers from Manchester’s Bands on the Wall, the Music Venue Trust and a music tax expert. You can watch again here.

Further webinars are being planned so keep checking back here or on The Hub’s website for more information.

The hubchats are part of a body of events and online resources The Hub are producing, with help from members of the Community of the Curious and the Generous, a bunch of like-minded people working in music who share what they know with each other for their own and the greater good. For more information visit The Hub.

The webinars are broadcast via Google Hangouts on Air, so you can post questions either in advance or live during the broadcast itself. For more information on Google Hangouts on Air and how you can actively participate we’ve put together a short  guide.  You can also send questions for the panellists and follow all the twitter action on the day via the hashtag #hubchat or our twitter feed  @tweetsatthehub. To stay up to date with all Joining the Dots events,  sign up to join the Community of the Curious and the Generous.
