Dr Eleonora Belfiore

I am Associate Professor of Cultural Policy, Director of Studies of the Warwick Commission on the Future of Cultural Value, and one of the main tutors for the MA in International Cultural Policy and Management. I am a humanities scholar, with a background in classics and Italian literature, and my research has consistently focused on the development of a humanities-based, but also highly interdisciplinary, approach to the study of cultural policies and cultural politics. I am passionate about public engagement, and committed to the notion that research comes alive in conversations and interactions with people, both within and beyond the academy. This underpins my love for teaching – especially international and cultural diverse students – and I am committed to taking my research out of the university into the world of practice and policy-making. I am the founder and curator of the web resource The #culturalvalue Initiative. Since the Summer of 2013 I have been working as Director of Studies on the Warwick Commission on the Future of Cultural Value, a large scale public engagement project which aims to develop a research informed, intellectually sound national conversation on the value of the arts and culture and the policy infrastructure required for their flourishing. You can find out more on this project on the Commission’s web site.
