A summer fair Royal Holloway, University of London with a radical twist. Explore the extraordinary 800 year legacy of Magna Carta through art and music, talks and workshops, dance and drama.

Get involved in hands-on activities and performances, sample food and drink, or try your hand in the crafts market – there will be something for all the family!

Take an ride through 800 years of liberty and freedom with an 8m long timeline; challenge your world view with 1,086kg of rice that tells surprising stories about the UK population; marvel as the most influential figures in the fight for rights for all since 1215 are brought to life as amazing giant puppets create by Surrey schoolchildren, and more.

The Great Charter Festival gives you the chance to join in the exciting celebrations and find out more about the legacy of Magna Carta and what it means today.
