From the playful to the percussive, Guildhall piano professors join forces to perform some of the most memorable music written for four hands. Beginning with Mozart’s only sonata for two pianos, the programme includes Ravel’s great ‘dance macabre’ and Bartók’s exhilarating and inventive Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion, with Guildhall alumni George English and Pedro Segundo.
The second half brings Brahms’s tribute to Haydn and Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring for two pianos, the first published version of this iconic work.
