‘Walking the City’ TCCE Annual Walking Weekend 2015
Walk Guide: Professor Jeremy Strong, University of West London
Duration: about an hour
This gentle walk based around St. James’s will pause at a number of London’s Gentlemen’s clubs, linking them to their appearances in literature and notable literary members. In addition to ‘real’ locations such as the Carlton and Athenaeum, the story of the walk will also embrace fictional venues such as Fleming’s Blades, Wodehouse’s Drones and Patrick O’Brian’s Black’s.
Please note that this walk will start outside Boodle’s. 28 St. James’s St. and end at The East India Club. 16 St. James’s Square. There will not be entry to any of the clubs.
Booking is essential, so please do BOOK NOW.
