Douze notations
Guildhall School musicians celebrate the 90th birthday of one of the greatest and most controversial figures in classical music, as part of the BBC Symphony Orchestra’s Total Immersion series.
Taking in key works from the French composer’s chamber oeuvre, the programme spans Boulez’s first published composition, the kaleidoscopic Douze notations (1945), to his most recent, Une page d’éphéméride (2005), also for solo piano. This early evening concert forms part of a wider day of concerts, talks and events presented by the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
