Jim McGarvan is Professor of English at the University of North Carolina Charlotte specialising in British Romantic Era, Childhood Studies & Creative Nonfiction. His Books include In the Shadow of the Bear: A Michigan Memoir, Literature and the Child: Romantic Continuations, Postmodern Contestations and, as editor, Romanticism and Children’s Literature in Nineteenth-Century England and Time of Beauty, Time of Fear: The Romantic Legacy in the Literature of Childhood.
