EcoCentrix Online is an innovative digital exhibition of performance-based arts from the Americas, the Pacific, Australia and South Africa.

Drawing from a live exhibition at Bargehouse on London’s Southbank last year, this experimental project focuses on sustainability, both as the conservation of environments and as a collective social practice that revitalizes cultures. This unique platform invites users to explore indigenous performance in dynamic and interactive ways, creating their own virtual gallery experiences.

Visitors can view digital exhibits adapted to form interactive experiences, and add to the site’s content during hands-on sessions at computer stations and mobile devices.

EcoCentrix Online is one of the public outputs of the ERC funded project, Indigeneity in the Contemporary World: Performance, Politics, Belonging led by Professor Helen Gilbert (Royal Holloway). This launch event is supported by the Victoria and Albert Museum and is part of Being Human: A Festival of the Humanities.
