Camberwell Space is pleased to present Philip Booth, winner of the 2012 Vanguard Prize, with his debut solo exhibition.
This new work questions common human values and experiences through the language of still life painting. Using disparate and trivial objects that have the potential to be manipulated or composed to create a narrative. It is both a commentary on still-life painting as a genre, and the absurdity of everyday life.
Philip works with painting, drawing and textile based media to create images that are at once familiar, and in turn humorously ambiguous in their meaning.
This exhibition marks the completion of Philip Booth’s twelve-month residency at Vanguard Studios, South London.
