7th February, 2014 / 11.00am - 4.00pm
11th September, 2013
The Fashion Colloquia series started as a series of four fashion-based events organized to coincide with the fashion weeks in London, Milan, Paris and New York. These have been well received and we are now organizing a second series commencing in London (detailed below), followed by the Amsterdam leg on January 23rd and 24th, 2014.
The International Foundation of Fashion Technology Institutes (IFFTI) is an international association of leading higher education institutes dedicated to promoting excellence in teaching and learning in fashion and fashion related programs.
This aim of this event is to create a space for international and local participants to present their ideas and facilitate ‘match-making’ with interested individuals and institutions interested in collaboration.
We have invited 15 international (refereed) fashion-led contributions covering a broad spectrum of themes and formats to be presented at this event hosted by London College of Fashion. Each of these is looking for cooperation and participation from individuals and institutions from across the globe in order to propel these projects. We are expecting an international and diverse audience and hope to initiate a series of successful international research and practice-based collaborations and partnerships.
The project topic areas include the following (amongst others):
Who should attend?
To ensure the potential of participants’ research projects we are also supporting an “Alternate Forms of Funding” workshop. In this way, we will enable proposed ideas to proceed to become live active projects and produce results.
We are also introducing monitoring/updates of these successful research projects at future Fashion Colloquia events. Thus, enabling a sharing and learning from experience so that we this might encourage new opportunities for the future.
The programme will be posted shortly, please check this listing for updates or contact below.
Please note that is a participatory event designed for academics, alumni, PhD and MA students (from UAL and other institutions), industry and press only.
There is no charge for attending this event. However, RSVP is essential as there are limited places, please RSVP ASAP to colloquia@fashion.arts.ac.uk stating your full name, occupation, institution/company and areas you are interested in.
Refreshments will be provided.
