ETHOS: The Centre for Responsible Business at Cass Business School is pleased to present a special preview of ‘Red Ant Dream’, a documentary film by Sanjay Kak. The two-hour film will be followed by a Q& A with the filmmaker.
This documentary film is a story about tribal resistance in India and their fight for survival against the state and a rampant mining industry. The story is familiar to countless Indigenous communities all over the world who are engaged in similar battles, but whose voices are being silenced and livelihoods destroyed in the name of development.
About Sanjay Kak:
Sanjay Kak is an acclaimed documentary filmmaker whose previous work includes films Jashn-e-Azadi (How we celebrate freedom) about the meaning of freedom in Kashmir, and Words on Water, about the struggle against mega dam projects in India. He is also active in the Campaign Against Censorship, and the Cinema of Resistance project.
About ETHOS:
ETHOS – The Centre for Responsible Enterprise at Cass Business School is an innovative, interdisciplinary and collaborative research, teaching and engagement centre focusing on creating responsible enterprises. The centre focuses on the Ethos, or guiding beliefs and values that we believe should characterize all organizations: sustainability, responsibility and good governance. Public engagement is a key agenda for the centre. For ETHOS this goes beyond knowledge transfer. It involves developing enduring relationships with institutions, government entities and social organizations locally, nationally and internationally. It also involves developing wider public debate about the guiding beliefs and values of our organizations and economic activity.
