The Middle East Ensemble performing primarily on dafs, perform ancient celebratory and ritualistic music from the Middle East. This performance will include songs in the Mode of Shour and Chahargah from Iran, a contemporary melody based on an ancient 34 beat cycle called “Khosh-Rang” meaning beautiful colour plus two dance rhythms, one from Egypt and the other from Azerbaijan.
