Chelsea Alumni Hsiao-chi Tsai and Kimiya Yoshikawa have created a set of bright, dazzling suspended floral sculptures in a huge decorative vase, for an installation at The Public, gallery space in West Bromwich. Light and Dark Fantastic was assisted by artist Matt Venn and experimental sound collective ‘Circumstance’.

Hsiao-chi Tsai studied BA Textile design at Chelsea in 2004 and Kimiya Yoshikawa studied Fine Art Sculpture in 2004.

The light and sound duo have teamed up to exhibit across the world a number of times before. The Light and Dark Fantastic piece was initially shown at London’s PM Gallery and House in 2012.

The pairs most high-profile showing for their bloom-based artwork, would be their 2007 Harvey Nichols department store ‘Futuristic Flowers’ installation.
