London College of Communication, in partnership with Animate Projects, the Jerwood Charitable Foundation and London International Animation Festival, host a free panel discussion at the Apple Store Regent Street on the opportunities and challenges for young independent animators.
The event will include a mix of industry professionals and emergent animators discussing the ‘new animation’ – beyond traditional shorts, creative collectives, new platforms – and the kind of development support people need to succeed.
Start Me Up is part of Accelerate: a new professional and practice development programme for animators being developed by London College of Communication in collaboration with Animate Projects.
Accelerate want to map changing models of production, practice, and career in a rapidly changing digital media environment, and help animators get training that reflects the different skills needed to navigate the changing terrain, and which equips them to succeed in this fast changing context.
