From issues concerning disputed islands in the East and South China Seas to problems of nationalism, the legacy of WW2 continues to shape the international politics of the region and with it, of the rest of the world.
Professor Carol Gluck, a world renowned historian of East Asia investigates this question in this annual event that honours the work and achievements of late Professor Saki Dockrill.
Carol Gluck is the George Sansom Professor of History and Professor of East Asian Language and Cultures, in the Department of History and the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Columbia University.
A wine reception in Chapters on the 2nd floor of the Strand building will follow the lecture.
