Inaugural Lecture by Michael Bromley, Professor in International Journalism.

Journalism is confronting a multi-faceted crisis of the declining viability of its major vehicle, the mass media; falling levels of public trust, and deficiencies in its practices. The primary responsibility for preparing journalists lies with institutions of higher education. How, then, can the academy contribute to resolving the crisis in journalism?

Professor Bromley has taught at universities in the UK, USA and Australia. He has published seven books and more than 50 chapters and articles.
