Presented by Central Saint Martins, Devices and Disguises is a series of short films exploring Shakespeare through animation. Each one finds inspiration in the Shakespeare plays Twelfth Night and The Tempest, exploring themes of identity and gender, post-colonialism, love and friendship.
Created by students from the MA Character Animation course, Devices and Disguises brings life to new imaginary places and characters whilst reaffirming the power of storytelling and visual language.
The project is a collaboration between the Royal Shakespeare Company and Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design.
Devices and Disguises is part of the World Shakespeare Festival. The World Shakespeare Festival is produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company for London 2012 Festival.
