Featuring Blackheath Halls favourites baritone Grant Doyle and tenor Nicholas Sharratt
Last Night of the Mini Proms is a miniature version of the last night recreating the fun, accessible atmosphere and music of the celebrated Royal Albert Hall concerts.
It features favourites such as Rule Brittania, Jerusalem, Pomp and Circumstance, Waltzes by Johann Strauss and opera highlights such as Figaro’s Aria from The Barber of Seville, all performed exquisitely by a string quartet and two opera singers.
The singers are drawn from performers with stellar careers with companies such as Royal Opera Covent Garden, English National Opera, Glyndebourne, Opera North, Sydney Opera House and Teatro Real Madrid.
The string quartet comprises experienced players who perform with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, BBC Welsh Orchestra, Birmingham Royal Ballet and English National Ballet. They have appeared with orchestras at the BBC Proms and have played at numerous Last Night of the Proms-style concerts with the London Concert Orchestra and National Symphony Orchestra.
