Dr Caroline Howarth, LSE

As Senior Lecturer in Social Psychology at the London School of Economics, Caroline Howarth’s research and teaching seeks to push Social Psychology in a more critical direction by addressing questions of intercultural relations, community, racism, exclusion and resistance. This has demanded the conceptualisation of the role of re-presentation in identity formation, in the marginalisation and racialisation of specific communities and in the possibilities of belonging, resistance and transformation. This research informs her undergraduate and postgraduate teaching of Modern Social Psychology, Intercultural Relations and Racism, community, identity, social representations and methods of research
