The London Centre for Arts and Cultural Exchange hosted Collaborations Between the Cultural Sector and Higher Education at ICA, an event that brought together speakers from the Arts and Humanities Research Council, Queen Mary University of London and Arts Council England to talk about funding opportunities and new strategies to encourage collaborations between academia and the arts. Information was presented on existing AHRC programmes that could be of interest to academics and arts and cultural organisations, inclusive of the Knowledge Transfer Fellowship scheme, the Knowledge Catalyst Scheme and the AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Awards initiative. Case studies of these initiatives being developed at universities were also presented, as well as the Arts Council’s new strategy for working with Higher Education. The presentations were followed by a Q and A and networking.
Contributors/Speakers: Kezia Parry, Knowledge Transfer Manager, AHRC; Robert Keegan, Programme Manager, Collaborative Doctoral Awards, AHRC; Dr Amy Neale, Research and Business Development Manager, Innovation and Enterprise, Queen Mary; Aileen McEvoy, Acting Executive Director, Arts Council England.
