Impossible Partnerships

Impossible Partnerships

Our Impossible Partnerships programme aims to organise cross-institutional roundtable events wherein TCCE directors, partners and academic researchers can identify and pilot new collaborations and networks to address wide themes and challenges. The themes of the Impossible Partnerships events vary widely, but they all address topics that have been nominated by researchers from across our membership.

In the 16/17 academic year we have held events on:

Sound and Image

Improvisation

Citizen Science

Distributed Data and the Science of Art

The Gig Economy: Zero Hours Working in the Arts and Academia

Our next roundtable will be on the topic of Mapping. This event is open to academics from our member HEIs, as well as independent artists and organisations.

We are always seeking to speak with researchers to consider new topics for future events.

Mapping Collaborative Potential in Knowledge Exchange

This is an opportunity for researchers to meet one-to-one with TCCE staff in order to discuss their current research interests, to gain advice on the collaborative potential of their work, and to find out how they can form cross-disciplinary partnerships in the future. We are in a position to provide personalised introductions to researchers and entrepreneurs in most fields. We are currently holding 45-min drop-in sessions at Somerset House which are available for all researchers within our member institutions, and we can also offer consultations via Skype, Facetime, or over the phone – just put your preferred username/number and platform after your name when you sign up.

Additionally, we can also offer an afternoon Drop-in at your HEI, a pitch to your Research group or a presentation contribution at your next Departmental Meeting, please contact us for more details.
