TCCE’s Women Walking Mini-festival: Histories, Movement and Mobilities 24 – 26 March 2022

TCCE is delighted to curate Women Walking: Histories, Movement and Mobilities, a mini-festival, building on our Walking the City activities in previous years where we took research onto the streets, creating opportunities for knowledge exchange in this novel setting. This mini-festival event works in this tradition, bringing together researchers, practitioners, writers and poets to explore the issue of women’s walking from a broad range of disciplines. 

Over three days, we will examine women’s walking from historical, literary, filmic, activist, physical, emotional, and health perspectives, across a range of formats including presentations, facilitated workshops, in conversation events, expert panels discussions and in person walks. 

As walking has become integral to our day to day lives over the course of the pandemic, we hope this festival will encourage attendees to think about walking as brought about by our speakers, but also their own walking and the physical, emotional and health benefits of this practice.
